Father-Son Retreat

Father-Son Retreat

Tomah Shinga (map)

Join us October 6 - 7 for a Father-Son Retreat, designed for young men in the 4th-12th grades and their dad or father-figure. We will meet at Camp Tomah Shinga near Junction City to enjoy some outdoor fun and opportunities for the father-son relationship to grow deeper. Our schedule will also include a time of preparation and training for the dads. The retreat will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday the 6th (please eat dinner before you come) and will end at 5:00 PM on Saturday the 7th. Participants are asked to provide their own transportation to the camp, and are encouraged to make dinner on Friday part of their father/son time together. However, if transportation is an issue please let us know and we can help!

This event takes the place of the annual UCC High School Guys Retreat, and is a collaboration between the Youth, Children’s and Discipleship ministries. If there is a student whose father or father-figure is unable to attend, we would love for them to attend with a youth ministry or J12 small group leader.

Register here by September 17 for the lowest fee of $40 per person, prices will increase to $50 after September 17. Your registration includes bunk-style lodging, two meals and activities.  Registration deadline is September 27. Scholarships are available if cost is an issue. Please be aware space may be limited.

Will & Trust Seminar

Gathering Place (map)

Over 70% of adults don’t have a valid will or trust. Now is your chance to get your legacy andhealthcare documents prepared and to keep them updated through the years.

This stewardship and estate planning seminar, by Financial Planning Ministry, will assist individuals in the creation of their personal legacy plan, including the creation of wills and living trusts. The seminar will be approximately 75 minutes long and there will be an opportunity to schedule a follow-up appointment. Please RSVP my emailing Collin Nitcher.

Designing your will/trust allows you to:
1. PASS ON YOUR VALUES Preparing for the future reflects good
stewardship and protects the things that mean the most to you.

2. SAVE TIME AND MONEY Establishing a living trust may lower your
estate taxes and will eliminate probate. On average, this saves your
loved ones 6 months to 2 years, and $10,000 in probate alone.

3. HAVE PEACE OF MIND In your legacy plan, you can ensure your
desires on medical decisions, guardianship of your minor children,
and distribution of your valuables will be fulfilled. Your instructions are
legally binding and guaranteed to be followed.
